At the end of 2024, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Derek Remeš received the "Citation of Special Merit" from the  US Society of Music Theory  for his editorship of Friedrich Wilhelm Marpurg's treatise Abhandlung von der Fuge (1753–54). 

I was recently appointed Professor of Music Theory at the Technical University in Dortmund, Germany. For the past five years I was Docent for Music Theory at the Lucerne University of Applied Arts and Sciences in Switzerland.
